First Look: L'Appat Patisserie

Stopped in yesterday evening to check out the new L'Appat Patisserie on Oak Street in Olde Towne East. It's a couple blocks down from Yellow Brick Pizza and The Angry Baker. You can read more about L'Appat in Thursday's Alive, but in the meantime I thought I'd share some photos of this neat little international bakery.

Their bakery case is filled with European-style pastries with African and Southern influences. I tried this little Southern Sweet Potato Cake. It was pretty delicious. More from the case:

They have several versions of chausson, Parisian pastry pockets filled with sweet or savory fillings.

And a few more Southern-feeling desserts, like these Pina Colada cakes

I love how tall this tiny cheesecake is.

L'Appat specializes mostly in sweets, but also offers some savory pastries and a few daily specials. Yesterday's was an interesting sounding shrimp pierogies dish. Can't wait to see how this place evolves.
